Day 5 – National Museum of the US Air Force, OHIO

Day 5 was pretty cool. We visited the National Air Force Museum at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Tucker was in awe of all the airplanes, helicopters, ammunition, and even NASA Aircraft.

The place was expansive. Four aircraft hangers full of hundreds and hundreds of aircraft. I’m pretty sure Tucker’s mouth was open in awe most of the time.

Everyone was exhausted when we were done, there was lots of walking – and even more outside due to the longest parking lot known to man. Imagine if they turned an old airport runway into a parking lot – oh wait, it is an airplane museum after all. But – we made it and everyone should sleep well.

Once in the car, Tom informed me that our campground for the night didn’t allow kids who are not potty trained in the pool. That didn’t fly so we changed up the plan a bit and are staying at a Jellystone in Knightstown, IN. Closer to Indianapolis for more museum fun tomorrow!!

Ok – so Jellystone was not a great idea. Here’s a clip of what 10:50 at night sounded like.

They should really warn people that they were hosting a rave for children. On top of that, the bathrooms were pretty Nasty. Yes, with a capital N. I’m very much looking forward to a hotel shower. Alone.
We are all still in good spirits, aside from our Jellystone experience. We are traveling the country after all!
