Day 4 Great Lakes Science Center – OHIO

Up and out again by 9am, mostly because we heard thunder approaching and packed up quickly! Fortunately- with the playground so close, the kids played while we prepped to leave.

We headed out of PA through some wet weather and straight to Downtown Cleveland where we visited the Great Lakes Science Center.

This museum was stellar. Literally, it had a great NASA exhibit which of course Tucker loved. Penny got to do some building and we also watched a great Bubble presentation. (So easy to make your own bubble mix: 1 gallon of water and 1/4 cup of dawn dish soap!!)

We spent about two hours exploring and packed up to head further west around 1:30. Where we again, encountered some nasty weather!

While in Ohio, Tom found a bag of Ballreichs Potato Chips. If you knew my dad well, you’d know of his love for Ballreichs. He used to have boxes shipped to our house as you couldn’t get them anywhere in New England. Finding them was a special moment for me – and I’m so glad Tom recognized them and grabbed me a bag. We all enjoyed them and will be buying another few bags that (hopefully) will make it home with us.

A quick Walmart run for some necessities and then we checked into the Butler Mohecan KOA. Tom cooked up burgers and dogs and we ate then it was time to do laundry so we threw that in as the kids and Tom swam. Unfortunately the storm came before the towels were dry so we bought some new ones at the camp store and the kids sat in the car with the heater blowing, eating chocolate chip cookies.
I put Griff to sleep while Tom and the kids found some trails down to a frog pond and once again chased an abundance of fireflies. They also watched some bunnies hop around.

Lastly,  it was off to bed for the big kids as we folded laundry and straightened up camp. Then off to sleep for us!
