Day 21 Wyoming 9/9

Day 21 we took our time packing up and getting out today. We all got in showers and then headed to breakfast at the Grant Village Restaurant. Kids ordered pancakes which were huge and Tom and I got the buffet. A nice hot breakfast was a good way to start the day.

We then went back to camp to pack up the camper and say goodbye to Yellowstone. (Tom will be posting an "Everything I learned about camping at Yellowstone" post in the days to come).

We headed south through Tetons and visited the Moose Visitors Center for the kids to get their Grand Teton Junior Ranger Badges. We also grabbed some garb from the store including the book "Whose Butt is that?" A kids guide to animal behinds. Because. Kids.

We had planned on driving to Jackson Villiage to take the aerial tram to take one last look at the Tetons, however, the road in from the north did not allow trailers so our plans were foiled and we set sail south instead. We drove through Jackson, Wyoming and had we more time, this would have been a great little town to explore and shop. But on we went.

We drove the afternoon away and landed at the Fairfield Inn in Afton, Wyoming. We initially intended to stay at a campsite in Montpelier, Idaho, however, after 6 days in a campsite, I encouraged a change of plans. Mama wanted a hot shower and a nice warm bed.

Griffin has been having a harder and harder time with the car. Being confined for so much of the day is tough on a one year old. Once we got to the hotel, we let Griff just crawl around for an hour stretching those legs of his!

By this point we were famished since we'd had a late breakfast and skipped lunch so Tom took off to grab food. There was no way we were putting G back in the car to go to a restaurant. Hindsight, we shouldn't have sent Tom hungry because he came back with a feast. So we ate, a lot.

Swimming was a requirement so the kids could expel some energy.

Then tubby time and bed. It was an early night!
