Day 13 was an early day, we were out by 730 and headed to check out the Crazy Horse Momument. It’s a huge carving only about 15% complete in honor of Crazy Horse. It’s going to be huge once it’s finished.
When we left Crazy Horse we drove the Thunder Basin National Grasslands and saw lots of deer. Then it was off to Devil’s Tower, the nations first national monument. We did a hike around the base, it was about 1.3 miles on the tower trail. We saw deer and eagles. Good thing Tom is a pack mule.
The kids also earned their second Junior Ranger badge. This is such a neat program and the kids really enjoy it.
When we finished up there we headed to Buffalo, Wyoming where we camped at the KOA. We swam and Tom made our “Sweet Potato Scrambler” for dinner and then we were off to bed.
Can you post the camp meal recipes? I’m curious about sweet potato scrambler.
